Notes from our Certified Fitters:Always contact your physician and or therapist to determine the correct compression strength for your condition. Should not wear without doctor recommendation.
Jobst Vairox is medical compression hosiery for effective leg therapy for severe indications. It is easy-to-don with a precise fit and zippered style with open toe. It provides optimum medical efficacy with a gradient compression of 30-40 and uses multifiber yarns for the softest feel. The reciprocated and reinforced heel allows for greater durability and lasting comfort.
Jobst hose should be replaced after three to six months of normal wear. They start losing their effectiveness after that time. If they seem to be getting looser, than you are not receiving the maximum benefits of their compression strength.

Measure smallest part of ankle, then largest part of calf.
Measure length from floor to bend of knee.
Find appropriate size according to chart. Order Jobst Custom Supports for patients exceeding maximum parameters
Donning Suggestions:
Properly fitting Jobst compression stockings should feel snug at first. It may take a few days to adjust to the pressure.
Helpful Hints:
- Compression garments are easier to put on when you first get out of bed, before swelling occurs.
- Remove rings and jewelry that could damage your garment
- Use gloves (rubber or vinyl) to help position the garment on your leg
- Make sure your skin is dry before putting on your Jobst hosiery
- Avoid rolling or bunching the fabric as this will create too much pressure in specific areas
- Apply a thin layer of cornstarch or powder to help the stocking (or sleeve) slide smoothly over your skin
- Apply moisturizer to your legs (or arm) in the evening - not just before putting on your garment
Wear & Care
Wearing Compression for the First Time
The first few times you wear your compression garment you will notice the squeeze. It is OK to begin wearing your stockings gradually. Try wearing them for just a few hours the first day and then increase the number of hours each day until you can wear them comfortably throughout the day while you are up and about. Check your stockings periodically to smooth out any wrinkles as the fabric may move during the day. Remove your stockings before going to bed.
Wearing Compliance
It is important to wear your compression garments everyday. Compression stockings and sleeves manage an on-going problem. When you remove your compression garment the condition responsible for your symptoms is still there. Failure to wear your stockings or lymphedema garment may cause your condition to become more severe.
Care:
Please refer to the product label and/or package insert for full instructions on the safe use of these products.
Machine washable in lukewarm water. Do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, or iron.
Replacing Your Garment
The elastic fibers of your compression garment stockings will break down with wear. Proper care will increase the "life" span of your stockings, but you will need to replace your stockings or sleeve at about every 3-6 months depending on how often you are wearing and how you are caring for your garment. As a general rule, if your garment becomes easy to put on, it probably needs to be replaced.

We recommend that donning gloves always been worn when applying your compression garments. These gloves have a gripping texture that makes it considerably easier to put on compression hose. Donning gloves also help to prevent tearing, snagging or putting a nail or finger through the garment. This is especially true with the sheer compression hosiery. Other people prefer to use a donning aid like the Juzo Slippie Gator or Mediven Butler.
To preserve the life of your stockings, we suggest using Jobst Jolastic Wash.
